Freeland Painting Goal- Make the Customer’s Dream Come True

Josh: [00:13] Out of the experiences that you’ve had so far, what is your favorite part of the culture or the values here? If you could like identify one thing that you love about this place above all others that you’ve worked, what would it be?

Matt: [00:27] Being millennial, i.e. in everybody in my age group, we like to work for why. Why it is, why we do what we do.

And here at Freeland Painting, that’s my favorite thing. So again, going back, one of the most memorable experiences I had is when I signed my first big job, it was $55,000 interior and exterior paint job. It was huge. And Doug took me out and he said, “Well, why are we here? What’s the goal?”

And of course, like anybody else, to make money. And he stopped me right there. He’s, “No. That’s 100% not why we’re here. We’re here to make the customer’s dream come true. They have this vision for their house, their home where they lay their head at night. That’s what we’re here to do. That’s why we are here. Making money is just part of the process.” So always start with why and, that’s been one of the things I like most about working here at Freeland Painting.
